Inspired by her parents’ culinary ambitious, Chef Amy’s passion for baking and cooking started early in life. After pursuing a long desired culinary education, she graduated from the highly esteemed California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. During her culinary schooling, she worked at San Jose’s highly rated La Pastaia restaurant and continued on with them for the next 25 years. As working for such an extended period of time in one place in the hospitality business is unusual, the opportunity gave her a rare freedom, independence, gratification, support, and personal autonomy in her job, as well as to be a parent to her two beautiful daughters and to pursue other opportunities for growth. During that time, Chef Amy also pioneered an Organic Wedding Consulting Business, home-schooled her daughter, and continued to grow and be passionate about her desire to explore food trends through menu development and catering. She currently works for Big City Chefs, catering fine dining dinner parties for private clients in the Bay Area, as well as teaching culinary classes to small corporate and private groups in the South Bay.
